INCI: Laurus nobilis
Laurel Essential Oil is obtained by steam distillation of the leaves of Laurus nobilis. It is distinguished by its fresh, herbaceous, spicy, and subtly camphoraceous aroma, offering a bold yet refined Mediterranean character. It is primarily produced in Morocco and Spain and is one of the most iconic essential oils of the Mediterranean region.
Traditionally used in aromatherapy and cosmetic formulations, Laurel essential oil is appreciated for its invigorating and uplifting fragrance. It is valued for promoting a sense of mental clarity, focus, and emotional balance. It is widely incorporated into scalp and hair care products, massage oils, and skincare formulations. Its distinctive masculine, herbal aroma also makes it an excellent ingredient for men's grooming products, including soaps, aftershaves, beard oils, and natural fragrance blends.
Extraction Method: Steam distillation of the leaves.
Origin: Morocco and Spain.
Contraindications: Considered non-toxic when used as directed and properly diluted. However, prolonged or excessive use is not recommended. As with all essential oils, a patch test should be performed before topical application.
Blends beautifully with Cedarwood, Eucalyptus, Geranium, Ginger, Juniper Berry, Lavender, Lemon, Orange, Rose, Rosemary, Thyme, and Ylang Ylang essential oils.
