INCI: Pogostemon cablin (also known as Pogostemon patchouli)
Patchouli Essential Oil is obtained by steam distillation of the dried leaves of Pogostemon cablin. It is renowned for its rich, earthy, woody, and slightly sweet aroma, which becomes smoother and more complex as the oil ages. Patchouli is one of the most important essential oils in perfumery, serving as a natural fixative that enhances the longevity and depth of fragrance compositions.
Traditionally used in skincare formulations for dry, dehydrated, and mature skin, Patchouli is appreciated for its soothing, softening, and skin-conditioning properties. Contraindications: Considered non-toxic when used as directed and properly diluted. As with all essential oils, a patch test is recommended before topical application.
Blends beautifully with Bergamot, Chamomile, Geranium, Ginger, Lavender, Lemongrass, Myrrh, Neroli, Nutmeg, Pine, Rose, and Sandalwood essential oils.
