Myrrh Essential Oil

INCI: Commiphora myrrha

Myrrh Essential Oil is obtained by steam distillation of the natural resin of the Commiphora myrrha tree. It is distinguished by its rich, earthy, balsamic, and slightly smoky aroma, making it highly valued in aromatherapy and natural perfumery. The principal producing regions include Oman, Yemen, and Ethiopia.

Traditionally used in skincare formulations for dry, dehydrated, and stressed skin, Myrrh is appreciated for its soothing and skin-conditioning properties. It helps support skin comfort and softness and is commonly incorporated into balms, creams, body oils, and soaps. Its warm, resinous fragrance also adds remarkable depth, elegance, and longevity to oriental and woody perfume compositions.

Extraction Method: Steam distillation of the natural resin.

Origin: Oman, Yemen, and Ethiopia.

Contraindications: Considered non-toxic when used as directed and properly diluted. As with all essential oils, a patch test is recommended before topical application.
