INCI: Betula Lenta
Origin: It is produced from the aromatic trunk of the -25 meters high- homonymous tree, which grows in Canada, southeastern USA, Russia and various parts of Eastern Europe.
Indications: Its intense odor is camphor-like and reminiscent of Wintergreen (Gaultheria). It is considered an important analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antiseptic oil. Its diuretic and detoxifying action renders it valuable in anti-cellulite products, while it is beneficial against muscle pain in massage oil blends.
Contraindications: It is toxic and should be used in low doses.
Synergy with other essential oils: Cedar, Pine, Sandalwood, Rosewood.
